The Chanel Spring/Summer 2025 collection is here and with no fashion director at the helm, well … the results speaks for itself. They put a huge cage in the middle of the giant hall of Grand Palais and that’s it for decor. We certainly came a long way from having a beach inside the Grand Palais.

“People have always wanted to put me in cages: cages with cushions stuffed with promises, gilded cages, cages that I’ve touched looking away from. I never wanted any other than the one I would build myself.” - GABRIELLE CHANEL

For the show at the Grand Palais in Paris, models walked through a larger-than-life open birdcage. An invitation to spread one’s wings, it is inspired by the miniature, decorative object in Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31, rue Cambon in Paris.

Chiffon capes, slit skirts, wide-cut and fluid trousers, trench coats with a multicoloured feathers print come together in an ode to freedom, delicacy, lightness, and movement.
